Forty of the top 2008-born prospects in international basketball gathered in Los Angeles during NBA All-Star Weekend for the 2026 edition of the Basketball Without Borders Global Camp. The event brought together elite young players from around the world, giving them the opportunity to compete in front of NBA scouts, executives, and player development staff.
The camp featured a mix of guards, wings, and bigs representing multiple continents, with several players already established on the international youth circuit and others emerging as intriguing long-term prospects. Below are notes on a number of the standout performers and prospects from the camp.

Anderson Diaz (Point Guard – 6’1” – 2008 – Dominican Republic – Overtime Elite)

A guard with strong instincts who consistently creates advantages in 1v1 situations. He attacks the paint effectively and shows a reliable mid-range scoring package, using a mix of floaters and pull-up jump shots. As a floor general, he handles pressure well, maintains control of the ball, and demonstrates the ability to create opportunities for teammates. Overall, he shows a strong feel for the game and solid playmaking instincts.

Felipe Quinones Garcia (Guard – 6’4” – 2008 – Puerto Rico – IMG Florida)

His passing ability, decision-making, and poise are all at a high level. He stood out with his changes of rhythm, burst, and consistent motor throughout the event. While he is still light physically, he is a prospect worth following on the international stage.

Defensively, he showed a solid level, applying full-court pressure and holding his own against all guards at the event. Offensively, he was able to get into the paint almost at will, using a mix of pace, body control, and craft. He was one of the standout guards at the event and consistently performed at a high level. His floater game, in particular, was a major weapon and operated at a very high level.

Matthys Mahop (Guard – 6'5" – 2008 – France – PFBB)

Previously viewed dynamic French guard with a strong pull-up game. Intriguing long-term ceiling. Good size and physical profile with high-level athletic tools. Showed improved shot selection while maintaining strong efficiency from both mid-range and the perimeter. Consistently able to get into the paint and pressure the rim, creating scoring opportunities at the basket. Also impressed scouts in attendance with his two-way impact.

Cheickh Niang (Guard/Forward – 6'6" – 2008 – Italy/Senegal – Trento)

Long wing (3) who showed some shooting ability and flashes of creativity with the ball. As a slashing player with an inside/outside profile, shows promising tools and some stylistic similarities to Pascal Siakam. Will need to continue developing his perimeter game, but the overall ceiling remains intriguing.

Obinna Ekufu (Guard/Forward – 6'6" – 2008 – United Kingdom – Sagemont Prep)

Impressive defensively with an elite motor, guarding multiple positions and showing strong defensive versatility. Likely the highest-motor player in the group. Rebounding consistently stood out throughout the event. Passing ability remains limited and he will need to improve his overall feel for the game as a guard/wing.

Showed offensive improvement over the following days, including better decision-making, forcing fewer actions, and keeping his head up as a passer. Overall progress was evident — a positive sign of his coachability.

Ricards Aizpurs (Guard/Forward - 6'5" - 2008 - Latvia - Stella Azzurra Roma)

Potentially the top guard in attendance. High-level catch-and-shoot ability at the shooting guard position. Has significantly improved his physical tools and motor over the course of the season. Good overall physical profile with some pop and the ability to get into the paint at will. Projects as a high-major college prospect with clear upside. If he continues to fill out physically and expand his playmaking, particularly as a passer and creator out of pick-and-roll situations, his long-term ceiling could rise even further.

Swann Penda (Forward – 6'8" – 2008 – France – Le Mans)

High-motor wing and one of the better players in attendance. Strong rebounding instincts. Has a good frame and physical foundation, with room to continue developing his burst and pace with the ball. Interesting prospect for both professional and high-major college programs. Long-term outlook will benefit from continued shooting development

Maksim Brnovic (Forward - 6'10" - 2008 - Montenegro - KK Buducnost VOLI)

One of the most intriguing prospects in attendance and potentially among the top long-term prospects in the group. High-upside wing with playmaking ability and strong catch & shoot ability. Excellent size and dimensions for the position. Big frame with a versatile skill set — capable of attacking off the dribble and stretching the floor in C&S and pick-and-pop situations. Significant long-term upside

Klark-Luka Riethauser (Forward – 6'9" – 2008 – Switzerland – Chalon)

Athletic two-way wing with good speed and quickness, capable of generating his own shot. Shooting consistency remains an area for development at this stage. Defensively impacts the game with length and activity. Overall feel for the game is still evolving — tends to attack the basket quickly off the catch and is not yet a natural passer. Somewhat unpolished but effective in stretches, with continued game reps likely to help round out his skill set.

Showed clear improvement over the course of the event, particularly with his defensive presence and slashing ability, highlighted by chase-down blocks and explosive finishes that suggest intriguing long-term upside and possible NBA translation.

Cameron Houindo (Forward/Center – 6'9" – 2008 – France – Cedevita Olimpija)

Standout prospect with solid upside who could potentially project at the 4 position long term. Slightly undersized for the center position however still claimed MVP honors for the event. Competitive instincts are evident in the intensity of his play, and he consistently showed the ability to finish well through contact. Presents an intriguing physical profile — somewhat reminiscent of a Jusuf Nurkić–type presence, with more out-of-the-box athleticism and strong physical tools. Continued development of his overall skill level and perimeter shooting will be important for his long-term projection, particularly if he is to operate effectively as a modern 4/5.

Obinna Ekezie (Center – 7'1" – 2008 – Nigeria – Southeastern Prep)

Prospect with great size, physical tools, and very good hands even at this early stage. Mobility is still developing and may limit defensive versatility in the short term, though he already uses his strength and physical presence well. Relies primarily on his physical tools and athleticism to impact the game. Improving as a finisher and beginning to show flashes of above-the-rim finishing, while also being able to score effectively using his size. A key area to monitor will be his ability to defend consistently while managing fouls.
